La costruzione chiamata Ospedaletto, risalente al XIII secolo, un tempo accoglieva i viandanti e i pellegrini. Sulla facciata la finestrella quadrata che si nota a sinistra della porta principale è la cosidetta ‘porta del morto’, da cui uscivano le bare con le salme dei pellegrini deceduti. Sopra la porta d’ingresso, ad arco acuto, si intravedono i resti di un antico affresco raffigurante la Vergine col Bambino: alla destra della Madonna un Angelo, o forse un santo, regge un libro; in alto compare una scritta in caratteri gotici.
The building known as Ospedaletto, dating from the XIII Century, welcomed wanderers and pilgrims. On the façade, the square window on the left of the main door is the so-called ‘dead man’s door’, because coffins containing the corpses of deceased pilgrims used to be passed through here. Above the main entrance, with pointed arch, there is a faded fresco of the Virgin with Christ child: to the right of the Madonna is an angel, or perhaps a saint, holding a book; above it all, an inscription in Gothic characters.
